Dollars for Scholars News Dollars for Scholars Rivals Mother Nature By Chris Fluke Spring has arrived.  BRAVO!  And just as Mother Nature is setting out new growth all around, so too is Dollars for Scholars. We are excited to share that President Matt Cook has set up a website with some pertinent information about us. To read all about this organization that promotes higher education through financial support in the form of scholarships to deserving applicants, visit www.medollarsforscholars.com . Matt assures us that though it is a “work in progress”, it is a big significant step with room to expand.  Thank you for taking the time and energy to purchase the site and set it up.  We look forward to new and better things frequently.  In addition to the website, we are proud to announce that Melissa Neely has been accepted as the newest board member. After working on the Phone-A-Thon, Melissa submitted an application for membership.  She has served the Maine-Endwell in a variety of capacities and currently works at Homer Brink as a special education teacher. Her enthusiasm and love of kids were apparent during the phone-a-thon. We know she will bring the same to each board meeting and Dollars for Scholars activity.  Welcome Melissa.  May means scholarships and the committee has completed the work of reviewing the 45 applications returned by the 3pm deadline on Wednesday, April 4th, 2007.  They spent many hours, individually and collectively, reading, evaluating, and discussing blind application. (All personal information was deleted from each application that was then copied and handed over to the committee.) The Awards Committee is anxious to announce the names of scholarship recipients at the Senior Awards Assembly on Wednesday, June 20th, 2007 at the High School.   Did you pledge a donation during the 2007 Phone-A-Thon?
